Who We Are: Psychotherapy Associates of North Reading is a group private practice operated by Rick Kaufman, LICSW and Donna Whipple, PsyD. We have been in business for over 19 years. We currently have 13 therapists on staff, and we provide a wide range of clinical services. We have two locations: one is in North North Reading, Mass, which is about 20 mintues north of Boston. The other is in Amesbury, Mass, which serves northeastern Mass and southeastern New Hampshire. We offer day, evening and weekend hours, and we have on-call coverage for after hour emergencies for our own clients. For new referrals, the initial call goes to the referral coordinator, who will work with you to match you up with the therapist on staff who can best meet your individual needs.

Who Can Benefit: At one time or another anyone may experience emotional difficulties. This can be in response to a difficult experience, a long-standing life problem, or the stresses of daily living. It is at times like these that caring professionals can make a difference.

Services Provided: We provide group, individual, couples and family counseling for adults, adolescents and children, as well as diagnostic evaluations and consultations. We accept and bill most types of insurance. We offer male and female counselors, and we can provide day, evening and weekend appointments. As a generalist practice, we are well equipped to handle most areas of life stress. This can include problems at home, work or school, as well as problems with relationships, stress management, issues related to addictions, parenting, depression, anxiety, etc. Our services page tells more about this, including our parenting class.
